EAT SOUP, HAVE FUN, CHANGE STUFF

Our MISSION

Wells Soup is a volunteer-led community fundraising project supporting local charities, groups and initiatives in and around Wells. We bring people together over a simple meal to fund and champion ideas that make our community a stronger, more connected place.

At each quarterly Wells Soup lunch, guests enjoy freshly made soup from our friends at Fresh & Good while hearing short presentations from four local projects seeking support. Everyone attending receives a vote and decides which project they would most like to fund.

Entry is by a suggested minimum donation of £7, which includes a bowl of soup and your vote. Your donation helps cover the cost of the soup, bread and prize fund. If you are able to give a little more, we would be very grateful, as any additional donations help to cover the running costs of the event.

After the votes are counted, the project with the most votes receives £500, while each of the other three projects is awarded £150. This means that every organisation presenting at Wells Soup receives funding to support its work.

Every event ensures that local community projects benefit, while everyone enjoys great company, good food and the opportunity to make a difference together.

Everyone is welcome to attend. If you have a community project or initiative that could benefit from Wells Soup funding, we'd love to hear from you. Please see below for information on how to apply.

"I love the concept of Wells Soup. To me, it is a wonderful example of community in action. Over a bowl of really delicious soup, four local projects present their work, the audience listens, discusses, and then votes for the project they believe will benefit Wells and the surrounding area most. At a time when so much of the news can feel dominated by challenge, division and uncertainty, Soup is a reminder of the power of human goodness and all that can be achieved when people come together for good. Thank you to all involved!"
